(CNS): A collection of diverse work will be on display at the National Gallery this weekend for a special fundraiser for the Lighthouse School. The art exhibit and auction on Saturday evening includes a cross-section of work from the students at the school, and although designed to raise money, it is also a showcase for the students’ impressive artistic talents.

“This is the Lighthouse School’s first ever art exhibit,” a spokesperson for the school said. “We are striving for the recognition of our special children and their abilities. There will be both a silent and live auction on some amazing pieces that the children have produced.”

Tickets for the event cost $75, which includes hors d’oeuvres and wine. The money raised will go towards equipment for the school’s  playgrounds and for musical instruments.
