Feed Our Future Director Stacey VanDevelde receives donation from James Sedgley, Manager of Osetra Bay

(CNS): Osetra Bay has raised more than $3,000 for local non-profit organisations through its “Mingle and Jingle” drive, held every Wednesday from January through April 2015. For $40, the Morgan’s Harbour restaurant offered diners any two courses along with a signature Bellini or martini, and then donated $5 to the selected charity of the evening from all dine-in guests; the event also provided an opportunity for not-for-profit groups to gain new supporters.

Interested charities and companies were invited to utilise Osetra as the place to eat, mingle and raise additional funds towards their important efforts.

The funds raised from this year’s drive were awarded to Feed Our Future to provide a school meal to more than 100 needy children; Rotaract Blue for special projects; the Humane Society for the maintenance of dog kennels; Cayman Reef Recovery to buy materials needed to complete reef restoration after the damage caused by the Carnival Magic cruise in August 2014; Cayman ARK towards the physical, occupational and speech therapy needed for 20-month-old Skylar “Mimi” Ebanks who was diagnosed with cancer at birth; and in celebration of Earth Day with the National Trust for the Cayman Islands.

The four-month charity drive will return in 2016. Those non-profits interested in participating next year should email danielle@osetrabay.com.
