Tiny tots and grown-ups dress up for culture

(CNS): The Cayman National Cultural Foundation handed out prizes recently to the kids and adults who took the top spots in this year’s ‘Dress for Culture’ competition, which was part of the Red Sky at Night Arts Festival last month. Dress for Culture Day promotes the vibrant cultures that co-exist in the Cayman Islands and corporate groups and nursery schools dressed up for the ‘Parade of Nations’ contest and the photo competitions to raise money for the CNCF’s art programmes.

During Dress for Culture Day on Friday 27 February  people sent in pictures of their dress-ups at home, school, work and play to the CNCF’s Facebook page, where for the next three weeks people voted for their favourites.  Then, at the live competition at the Harquail Theatre during the festival the parade of nations costumes were judged by a professional panel.
