Young dancers go for gold in NCFA

Young dancers compete in the National Children’s Festival of the Arts

Young dancers took center stage at the Harquail Theatre on Monday (4 May 2015). Primary and high school aged students from nine government schools and the Cayman Islands National Dance School (CINDS) presented 32 items at the National Children’s Festival of the Arts (NCFA) dance adjudications.

Dance styles on display included lyrical, jazz, contemporary and traditional and by the end of the evening judges had awarded 10 gold medals,12 silver and six bronze.

Judging the performances were veteran local dance instructors Anita Gough, Lorna Reid and Jackie Balls.

A number of award-winning dance items will be seen again during the NCFA final concerts 11-14 May at the Harquail Theatre from 6.00pm. For more information contact the Education Department at 945-1199.
