(CNS): Youngsters around the Islands are enjoying a slate of summer camps, hosted by coaches from the Department of Sports. The morning camps train children, aged seven to 16, in football, netball, cricket and basketball.

The locations and sports offered in these free camps change each week; the Bodden Town football camp is running from now till 1 August.

In the last few weeks, around 45 girls and boys were put through their paces at the West Bay football camp, while the George Town netball camp reported a similarly enthusiastic turnout. In addition, more than 80 children have attended the junior lifeguard swimming camps.

On top of learning more about the individual sports, the young people have been able to interact with each other and make new friends.

The remaining camps, which still have spaces open, are basketball at Cayman Brac and Camana Bay, and football at East End (3-7 August); cricket at George Town (10-14 and 17-21 August); and football at North Side (17-21 August).
