(CNS): The Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman last week celebrated 40 years of service with a “Dress for a Cause Day” fundraiser, raising about $500 in donations from civil servants, which will benefit youth projects in the Cayman Islands.

Deputy Governor Franz Manderson presented the funds to Kiwanis representative Martina Jackson on Friday, 31 July at the Government Administration Building (GAB). Accompanying him were Portfolio of the Civil Service chief officer Gloria McField and civil servants from various agencies.

To support the fundraiser, portfolio staff invited civil servants to dress in blue or yellow, the club’s colours that day. Whoever dressed in those colours was asked to make a donation to Kiwanis representatives who were in the GAB lobby on Monday, 27 July and Thursday, 30 July.

The local club is a division of Kiwanis Club International, a non-profit organisation whose motto is “Changing the world, one child and one community at a time”. The Cayman Kiwanis Club conducts multiple fundraisers and events to benefit the community.
