(CNS): LIME Cayman hosted five interns over the summer, giving students the chance to experience working at the telecoms company during their break. The young people joined various departments including finance, customer service, marketing, technology, retail and analytics.

They were also given the opportunity to see how a regional Caribbean business operates.

LIME Cayman human resources manager Matthew Seales explained the advantages of the programme. “Working in a real-world environment allows interns to experience what they’ve learned in school (as they acquire) firsthand knowledge of the telecoms business,” he said.

“It’s a great opportunity for them to spend the summer working alongside leading professionals in the technology industry to learn and potentially start their career at a cutting-edge company.”

Intern Selena Scott spoke highly of her summer experience. “My time at LIME has been wonderful. I knew coming into a company like LIME would make me grow and expand my knowledge. I know that I want to work in marketing and working with the marketing team has confirmed it,” she said.

“I have been asked to stay on for three more months so I know I made a good impression and want to thank LIME for this amazing opportunity.”
