Georgette Ebanks views the museum exhibit depicting her life story

(CNS): Cayman icon Georgette Ebanks, 88, said she was “overwhelmed” and deeply thankful to see her life story depicted in a new exhibit which opened at the National Museum on Thursday, 22 October. One of two remaining ladies of the 24 who petitioned in 1948 for women’s right to vote, Miss Georgette stays spry, is thoroughly engaged in community and family happenings and is an active participant on local talk shows.

The event also celebrated seniors from all districts of Grand Cayman who socialised under marquees, sharing memories and enjoying refreshments.

The joint museum and Department of Children and Family Services event was celebrating Older Persons Month.
