Tea being served at a previous Pink Ladies Christmas bazaar

(CNS): The Pink Ladies Annual Christmas Tea and Bazaar will be taking place Saturday, 28 November, from 2pm-5pm at the ARC in Camana Bay. The popular family event will include booths selling handmade crafts, homemade jams and cakes, and plants, plus a raffle and silent auction.

Visitors looking for Christmas bargains will also be able to enjoy traditional holiday entertainment provided by the Cayman Youth Choir and other performers.

Children can be treated to face and nail painting, henna tattoos and mini portraits as well as enjoy Christmas crafts and activities. The young ones will have the opportunity to visit Santa’s Grotto to put in in their Christmas wish and help families in need through Cayman’s ARK “Giving is Receiving” programme.

In addition, the Humane Society will be holding a book sale and Cayman HospiceCare will be selling calendars, to support their respective causes.

A craft group works throughout the year to create a wide range of handmade items including Christmas gifts and decorations, quilts and linens, bags, dolls and decorated shells and boxes for sale at the bazaar.

The Country Kitchen will feature a variety of homemade jams, preserves, cakes and cookies prepared by the Pink Ladies. The White Elephant booth will offer bargains and interesting items for Christmas shoppers while the raffle and silent auction will provide a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses.

The bazaar is also the place to stock up on locally grown plants, with a dedicated stall, this year run in conjunction with the Garden Club of Grand Cayman, set up in the shade outside the hall.

The Annual Tea and Christmas Bazaar is a major fundraiser for the Pink Ladies, who operate the coffee shop in their name at Cayman Islands Hospital. Money that the Pink Ladies raise is donated back into the community, primarily through the National Council of Voluntary Organisations and The Pines Retirement Home, in addition to other local projects and charities as funds allow.

Tickets are on sale from individual Pink Ladies or at the hospital coffee shop. The $5 entry fee includes tea featuring homemade sandwiches, cakes, teabreads and cookies served with tea or fruit punch.

Tickets will also be on sale at the following locations:
