Breeze Fusion walk/run raises $4000 for charities

Deputy Governor Franz Manderson presents plaque to coach Jerry Harper

(CNS): More than 200 people participated in the ninth nnual Breeze Fusion three-mile walk/run which took place Saturday, 7 November at Smith Barcadere.   Walkers and runners raised $4,000, with the funds split evenly between the National Council of Voluntary Organizations and Meals on Wheels.

At the event, athletics coach Jerry Harper was honoured for his support and commitment over the years. Deputy Governor Franz Manderson presented Harper with a plaque and gifts on behalf of the organizing committee.

Participant Ezethamie Bodden said she was pleased to see so many young people participating in the event. A large group from George Town Primary also took part in the run, retaining their spot as the school with the most participants.

The top three female finishers were Nikki Christian (20:48:28), Tiffany Cole (21:42:50) and Molly Kehoe (23:14:74). The top three male finishers were Jason Saunders (17:52:04), Victor Magalhaes (18:14:52) and Bruce Mangatam (19:57:24).
