Fellow fire officers escort Percival Whorms from the airplane upon his return to Cayman

(CNS): The Cayman Islands Fire Service turned out on the Owen Roberts International Airport tarmac to welcome Station Officer Percival Whorms back to the Islands on Monday, 21 December. Whorms had spent the last six months in Miami undergoing surgery and receiving treatment for a serious medical condition.

His colleagues also gave him an official escort to his home.

Describing the Fire Service as an extended family, Acting Deputy Chief Fire officer Tina Choy said: “We want to extend a warm welcome to our brother Percival ‘Tommy’ Whorms, who is returning from a long road of illness and recovery. We want him and his family to know that we are here for them.”
