(CNS): The Water Authority-Cayman’s (WAC) annual December fundraising campaign has enabled a CI$2,864 donation to Feed Our Future Cayman. The money was raised through the authority’s Project Angel Tree initiative, which benefits one or more non-profit organisations each year.

Stacey VanDevelde, chairwoman of Feed Our Future, explained that the organisation supplies healthy, nutritious school meals to more than 150 children daily, as well as providing a summer food programme to support families in need.

“Our ability to maintain these programmes is largely due to the generosity of our corporate partners,” she said.  “Through the commitment of the Water Authority board, management and staff and their ‘Project Angel Tree’ initiative, our foundation has received a significant monetary boost which will enable us to reach more children in need and positively impact more lives.”

For December’s fundraiser, the authority’s employees raised CI$1,432, which was matched by the WAC board. “The authority is proud to support Feed Our Future Cayman and its mission to provide food to children and families in need,” said Water Authority director Dr Gelia Frederick-van Genderen.
