(CNS): Local football stars of the last century are hoping that they still have it in them to give hope to some of the community’s most vulnerable people. A special charity match will see the players of yesteryear from George Town go head-to-head with veterans from West Bay in order to raise much-needed funds for the Hope for Today Foundation, a halfway house that helps people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction who have been involved in crime.

The game is scheduled for Monday, 1 February at the Ed Bush Stadium, with a 7pm kick-off. Marcus Cumber has donated the trophy and organisers are billing the match as one not to be missed. As the 40-year-old-plus veterans face 90 minutes it remains to be seen if the West Bay oldies can capitalise on their home-field advantage over their contemporaries visiting from the capital.
