Swimmers who took part in the Brac Burner Meet

(CNS): The Sister Islands Swim Club held its first Burner Meet for 2016 on Saturday, 31 January, in Cayman Brac, at the government pool in Stake Bay. Marking the first meet in many years, 17 swimmers from age six to the open category competed in the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.

The meet was held to encourage swimming among youth. Club coach Michael Hundt and president Kenny Ryan presented participants with ribbons for their efforts.

Coach Susan Hundt and parents of Swim Club members served as timers and record keepers for the day.

The club’s next big event will be the CNB 800M Sea Swim set for Saturday, 9 April in Cayman Brac. The sea swim is open to anyone who would like to participate.
