The 2015 Island Heritage CharityDrive recipients

(CNS): The fifth annual Island Heritage CharityDrive is set to take place on Saturday, 23 April, with new ways for the community to get involved and help raise money for charity. This year, instead of three charities taking part as in previous fundraisers, Island Heritage employees voted for their favourite organisation, and all proceeds will go directly to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The foundation will benefit by earning as much as $25,000 from Island Heritage. The amount of funds donated will depend on the level of support and involvement from the community. In addition, the company is including a new fundraising event on the day, called the “Charity Plunge”, where all entry fees will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

As in previous CharityDrive fundraisers, the insurance company will donate $1, up to $25,000, for every car that drives past the Island Heritage roundabout, “support” click on their Facebook page, Twitter mention of @charitydriveky and “like” on Instagram.

In addition, new for this year, Island Heritage is holding the Charity Plunge at Royal Palms from 2pm-6pm on CharityDrive day. The entry fee of $10 pays for a slide into a pool of balls for a chance to win prizes, including the grand prize of $2,000. Each slide offers another chance to win.

Past recipients of CharityDrive have been Meals on Wheels, the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme, the Cayman Islands Humane Society, Cayman Islands Red Cross, the NCVO, the Cayman National Cultural Foundation, Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Cayman HospiceCare, Cayman Heart Fund, Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman, Canine & Feline Friends and the Save Our Youth Foundation.
