(L-R) New CEC recruits Felicia Bodden, Swan Raudales and Kayla Archibold

(CNS): Cayman Enterprise City recently recruited four Caymanians to its team which runs the special economic zone for tech-related companies. Although many of the firms that have set up shop in the ring-fenced zone created for technology, science, media and trading companies some four years ago have not yet delivered on the promised opportunities for local people, the landlords have a significant number of Caymanians on board.

Kayla Archibold, Felicia Bodden, Imelda Fagan and Swan Raudales are the latest recruits who officials said landed the jobs because of their friendliness, local knowledge, expertise and pride in Cayman, making them perfect ambassadors for the zone.

As CEC community coordinators, Raudales and Fagan make sure international clients who are relocating to Grand Cayman have what they need to settle into their new home. Archibold assists clients through their licensing process as a member of the client services team, and Bodden has joined the CEC accounts department.

Cayman Enterprise City said it will continue to provide opportunities for Caymanians as the zone grows and clients come here from around the world. Home-grown employees who understand “Caymankind” — touted by the Department of Tourism as the entire experience of Cayman culture, people, history, resources and traditions — are the backbone of the zone and the face of the Cayman Islands, the management team said.

Officials recently revealed that land has been identified for the planned physical campus as at present the “zone” exists in various rented office space around George Town and West Bay Road.
