Full stable of dressage riders on display at competition

(CNS): The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation (CIEF) held its third dressage show of the season on Sunday, 6 March, with 34 horse-and-rider combinations, including several newcomers to the show ring. Competing for the first time at a CIEF dressage show were Natalie Galloway, Lucy Lindsay, Reyah Stewart and Madison Ameline.

The high-point award for the adult rider went to Kate Flett for earning a 70.19% riding Blue Ridge Dream On at First Level Test 1. Chloe Fowler took the junior high-point award by scoring 67.17% on her horse, Will to Win, at Training Level Test 1.

USEF ‘S’ Judge Cindy Canace, of US state New Jersey said she was impressed with the Cayman riders and pleased to see so many young people interested and enthusiastic about the sport.

Training Level Test 3 (Adult) – Amara Thompson riding Second Kiss

Training Level Test 3 (Junior) – Eva Muspratt riding Oscar

The CIEF’s next and final dressage show of the season will be the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Dressage Challenge, in which Cayman Islands riders will be competing against their counterparts in Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. Cayman’s competition will be held over two days, starting at the Equestrian Centre on 30 April and finishing at the Cayman Riding School on 1 May. Start time for both days will be 8am. Spectators are welcome and admission is free.
