Cayman swimmers competing in Caribbean championships

(CNS): The Cayman Islands national swim team left this week for the Bahamas to participate in the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships, which runs from 29 June-2 July for the pool competition and 3-5 July for open-water events. The team of 22 comprises 17 swimmers, two officials and three staff (two coaches and a chaperone), with one of the athletes taking part in the open-water competition.

The swimmers – who all achieved CIASA-approved qualification times – representing Cayman are: Sabine Ellison, Avery Lambert, Stephanie Royston, Alison Jackson, Ria Plunkett, Holly Stradling, Samantha Bailey, Sarah Jackson, Lauren Hew, Catriona MacRae, Ella Plunkett, Jake Bailey, Corey Frederick-Westerborg, Jordan Crooks, Zachary Moore, Jonathan Key and Alex McCallum. The swimmers are coached by Bailey Weathers and David Pursley, and the team manager is Sue Weathers.
