(L-R): Danielle Coleman of Cayman HospiceCare receives donation from Kristina Buckeridge of Campbells

(CNS): With a combination of company donations and dress-down day contributions during July, Campbells has raised more than $15,000 for local charities. The majority of the funds will be given to the YMCA ($5,000); Cayman HospiceCare ($3,000); the Cayman Islands Humane Society ($3,000); and the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre ($3,000). Campbells launched its staff dress-down day programme in 2014, enabling the staff to help support local charities through voluntary payroll contributions each month.

Danielle Coleman, director of operations and development of Cayman HospiceCare, said of the donation, “We are tremendously grateful to the staff at Campbells for choosing Cayman HospiceCare as a charity of choice for their staff dress-down day. Such a simple but effective way to raise money, every penny of which will go directly towards caring for our patients and their families. Keep up the good work Campbells and thank you for your support.”

The staff voted for the charities to receive the July donations. “We are so pleased that our dress-down day programme has been able to support so many local charities in such a limited amount of time,” said Kristina Buckeridge, Campbells marketing and business development coordinator. “We look forward to developing the programme further and to making a difference to local charities in our community for years to come.”

Other charities that have been supported through previous dress-down days include Feed Our Future, Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts, Cayman Islands Cancer Society, Blue Iguana Recovery Programme, Bonaventure Boys Home and Optical Outlook Visual Aid Programme.
