(CNS): Civil servants and staff members of the Cayman Islands National Museum recently dressed down to fundraise ahead of the “Looky Ya! Mango Season” event at the museum, held Saturday, 16 July. T-shirts were sold downstairs in the Government Administration Building for several days, raising nearly $1,000 for the conservation and preservation of the museum building and public-education programmes.

Those who purchased the shirts were invited to take photos to show their support.

The main event, the brainchild of museum board chair Alfonso Wright, celebrated the centrality of the mango in Caymanian pastimes and homes.

The T-shirts remain on sale at the museum shop.
