(CNS): Pedro Castle will be hosting Grammy-winner Jason Crabb in the first-ever gospel concert at that venue on 31 July. The event is being held to raise awareness for early childhood learning, with 100% of the proceeds going to a local pre-school dedicated to providing that education in Cayman. Crabb also writes children books and the Christian artist is said to be excited to perform here.

Patrick Thompson, acting CEO of the Tourism Attraction Board, said of the event: “We are very pleased to be hosting the Jason Crabb concert at Pedro Castle, and are very much looking forward to welcoming the entire community – Christian and non-Christian – to our beautiful grounds.”

Dwayne Euter, who organised the concert, added, “This is the first time we have a Christian singer of this calibre come to the Cayman Islands, so we are very honoured and excited to be part of bringing him here. We have received lots of positive feedback on the concert so far, and are expecting a great turn out.”

Euter said of the singer: “Jason is looking forward to being here because he sees us, Cayman, as part of his family. He sees that he has family in many parts of the world and wants to share the love with all of us through his music.”

He said that when he told Crabb the concert was being held at Pedro Castle, overlooking the sea, his response was, “It is the perfect place for a Crabb.”

Pedro Castle operations manager Debbie Bodden spoke of the benefits of the locale. “When Dwayne came to us with the Jason Crabb concert, we knew Pedro Castle would be the perfect location,” she said.

“The warm and welcoming ambiance of the grounds along with the scenic ocean views are perfect for the genre of music Mr Crabb is famous for. We are also looking forward to having a concert of this size at Pedro, and are excited to participate in more concerts of this nature in the future.”

Crabb’s musical styles include gospel, country, pop and southern gospel. His most recent release, which came out last year, is “Whatever The Road”.

Gates for the concert will open at 5pm. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the gate. VIP tickets cost $50. Tickets can be purchased at the Seventh Day Adventist Conference Office or the Christian Enlightenment Centre (945-1252), both located in George Town.
