School zone lights and summertime

| 19/08/2016

Why can’t the holidays be programmed into the lights and what do you do in the case of Triple C where there is no school zone end sign?

Auntie’s answer: I know we are in the back end of summer, but I still would like to answer your question. I confirmed that the National Roads Authority (NRA) is responsible for programming the lights in school zones.

In addition, an NRA official said that over the summer break it normally does turn off the lights. If that is not the case, please write in to let me know.

As for the sign marking the end of the school zone at Triple C School, the NRA representative said that a work order has already been put in to take care of that. The authority is aiming to have the sign in place before school starts.

I am sure I mentioned about a year ago that there were no end signs along Walkers Rd.

This is partly why there is so much disregard for school zones. In the case of triple c where there is no school end zone you cannot expect drivers to continue at 15 mph until they reach their destination. It is a strange coincidence that the moment this is raised, there is suddenly a ‘work order’ to have it fixed when it has been like this for years. Sounds More like the adverse publicity is the catalyst to me.
