(L-R) Interns Dwight Lawrence, Shantell Ritch, Anisha Ritch and Victoria Whittaker

(CNS): Four students from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) spent the summer as interns for law firm the HSM Group, gaining experience in areas such as debt collection and intellectual property. Dwight Lawrence, Shantell Ritch, Anisha Ritch and Victoria Whittaker were the students who joined HSM’s summer internship programme.

HSM has worked with CIFEC interns since 2012 and three of the school’s graduates are now full-time employees. In a press release, the firm said its continued involvement in the CIFEC programme forms part of its commitment to the community, and it will continue to provide opportunities for young Caymanians to access the legal industry.

HMS managing partner Huw Moses said of the interns: “We are very pleased to have CIFEC students play an integral role in our team. We aim to train them with the skills to achieve their full potential.

“We appreciate the opportunity to share our expertise with them and future students who may be interested in pursuing a career in law.”
