(CNS): Kerrilyn Rivers, of the Ministry of Financial Services, cited for being most efficient, has been named the Employee of the Month for June under the Deputy Governor’s Award Programme. An accounts officer in the ministry, she is responsible for raising purchase orders, processing payments, raising receipts for revenue and assisting with regular month end processes, as well as other accounting functions carried out by the ministry’s finance unit.

Rivers often suggests ways to improve systems, and prepares and presents reports, said a government press release, calling her a go-to-it person in the accounting department who not only strives for excellence and meeting deadlines, but also takes on additional responsibilities and assists others to get the job done for the team.

“She has been instrumental in creating new templates, processes and file structures to improve the finance team’s productivity and efficiency,” said ministry chief financial officer Wendy Manzanares.

“Additionally, she is organised and consistently follows up with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve the desired result. As her manager, I appreciate her contributions to the finance team, ensuring that we can deliver our service in a highly efficient way.”

Dax Basdeo, chief officer in the ministry, also lauded Rivers’ efforts. “Kerrilyn is a valuable asset to our finance team,” he said. “She is always willing to take on new tasks and is consistent with her contribution towards our team’s and ministry’s goals. Kerrilyn displays a positive attitude and high level of professionalism and customer service to both internal and external clients. She is committed to her work and excellent at meeting our monthly deadlines.”

Deputy Governor Franz Manderson thanked Rivers for the passion and the professionalism she brings to her team.

“Kerrilyn, I applaud you for your years of excellent service, and for the enthusiasm and dedication you show daily and the part you play in maintaining our high performance standards and commitment to excellence,” Manderson said.

“I know that achievement and success don’t come by accident. So we thank for your contributions and hard work.”
