(CNS): Scotiabank recently awarded five Caymanian students US$5,000 each to assist in paying for their university education overseas. The bank’s student bursary supports young Caymanians in financial need looking to pursue an undergraduate degree in business or finance at a college/university overseas, helping them bridge the financial gap to fund their future.

This is the second year Scotiabank has awarded the bursary following the success of last year’s applicants; students have until 30 June to apply for the funds. This year’s recipients were Lucas McField, Alikie Kandler, Lianne Watler-Logan, Shenelle Ramtahal and Tenesa Richards.

“Scotiabank is proud to support young Caymanians in a quest to further their education overseas and I would like to offer my congratulations to Scotiabank’s 2016 bursary recipients,” said Sloane Muldoon, the bank’s managing director.

“For over 50 years we have partnered with over 40 community programmes supporting youth, education, sports and culture. The Scotiabank student bursary is another way to show our support of local youth through education, helping families in financial need.”
