(CNS): The 2016-17 Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association (CIASA) open-water season begins Saturday, 10 September with the 32nd annual Foster’s Sea Swim. This year, in addition to the traditional 800m swim, there is a 400m event for ages 12 and under which will not be timed and will take place while the results are being tallied for the senior race.

The looped courses start and finish at Governor’s Beach, with the 800m beginning at 4pm and the 400m at 4:45pm. Registration will take place from 3pm-3:45pm. Fees for CIASA members for the 800m are $15 for adults and $10 for children, with non-members paying $20 (adults) and $15 (children). The 400m swim will cost $10 for all.

The children will receive participation ribbons, T-shirts and refreshments.

The CIASA open-water season continues with two more swims this year, an 800m event sponsored by CUC on 8 October and the Pirates Week 5K in November.
