Cayman students shine in regional competitions

(CNS Local Life): Cayman students stood up well against entrants from schools from within the Caribbean and Latin America in the 2016 Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) children’s essay and poster competitions, with two second place winners and two finalists. Danny Kish of Cayman Prep and High School placed second regionally among students in schools from 21 countries in the junior division, earning US$1,500 for his essay on the topic, “If you were a cruise passenger, what would you like to see and do in your destination?”

Schoolmate Edward Webber earned US$200 as a finalist in the senior division.

Tyra Abell of Cayman International School earned US$1,500 for her second place finish and Samruddhi Tagalpallewar of St Ignatius Catholic School received US$200 as a finalist in the FCCA Environmental Poster Competition, which comprised entries from 12 countries and focused on the theme of protecting and raising awareness of the environment.
