Local entertainers set for NCVO telethon

(CNS Local Life): More than 10 acts have been lined up to provide entertainment to support the National Council of Voluntary Organisations’ (NCVO) annual fundraising radio/telethon set for Saturday 22 October 2016 and to be broadcast live from 7pm to midnight on Cayman 27 and Radio Cayman. The 37th annual event will feature live entertainment, plus viewers who pledge donations will be eligible to win one or more of at least 50 prizes donated by local businesses.

CNS Local LifeScheduled to perform on the night are Bonafide, Trinity, Melody Allenger, James Geary, Flamenco Caribe, Gordon Solomon, Quincy Brown, Andre Garcia, Liz Wyatt, Joan Wilson, Deame Lee and Little Magic.

The non-profit NCVO is dedicated to the care, education and well being of children and families in need of support in the Cayman Islands. All money raised during the telethon goes toward helping children through the NCVO’s programmes which include the Nadine Andreas Residential Foster Home, Miss Nadine’s” Pre-School, Jack & Jill Nursery, Caring Cousins Welfare Fund and John R. Gray Memorial Fund.

A dedicated phone line (946-6136) has been set up for people to call in donations on the night of the telethon, which will be available only for the fundraiser.

The community is encouraged to come out to watch the event at the Prospect Playhouse.
