Pirate pooches prepare to parade

| 15/11/2016

CNS Local Life(CNS Local Life): The annual Pirate Pooch Parade, set for Saturday, 19 November, is a chance for swashbuckling canines and their owners to strut their stuff to benefit the Cayman Islands Humane Society. The dogs, dressed in pirate-themed costumes, and their “parents” will parade around a short section of Harbour Drive between 9am and 10:30am.

Owners and their dogs will be entered to win a round-trip Cayman Airways ticket in the photo contest. People can vote for their favourite canine on the Pirates Week Festival Facebook page from 21-30 November, with the winner notified 1 December.

Registration, which costs $25, can be done online at the CaymanActive website or in person at 8:30am on event day. The first 50 people to register will receive a T-shirt.

A selection of pet costumes is available for sale at the Pirates Week souvenir shop behind the Cayman Islands National Museum.
