Santa Claus greeting travellers at the airport

(CNS Local Life): Passengers travelling through the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) received a holiday treat Saturday, 17 December as the Cayman Islands Airports Authority’s (CIAA) mascot, Calypso, “flew in” for a visit. In addition to passing out small holiday gift bags and keychains, the giant parrot also welcomed passengers and posed for pictures.

Steel pan players entertained outside of the arrivals hall and there was a snow cone machine making complimentary frozen concoctions for travellers. Earlier in the week, the Airports Authority welcomed Santa Claus to spread holiday cheer in the busy terminal.

The celebrations will continue this week with the CIAA customer-service team organising several more events.
