(CNS Local Life): The government is recognising 288 public servants at the 2017 Civil Service Long Service Awards, being held this month. Organised by Deputy Governor Franz Manderson and the Civil Service Association, the ceremonies will celebrate those civil servants who have reached milestone anniversaries of 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years in government by 2013, 2014 and 2015.

“These civil servants have shown tremendous dedication to the government and people of the Cayman Islands,” said Manderson, who heads the civil service. “I am very proud of their achievements and very much look forward to attending the awards ceremony.”

To accommodate those receiving awards in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, the ceremonies will take place at Pedro St James on Friday, 20 January, and at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort on Thursday, 26 January.

Gloria Nixon, Chief Officer for the Portfolio of the Civil Service added, “The men and women we will celebrate have careers spanning Cayman’s economic booms and recessions; but through it all they have remained steadfast to the noble profession of public service.

“I commend them for their personal and professional commitment and marvel at the diverse ways these career veterans have contributed to improving the lives of those we serve.”
