Mission House, Bodden Town

(CNS Local Life): The National Trust for the Cayman Islands will be introducing audio tours of the Mission House in Bodden Town on 1 April. These new tours,  narrated by Pastor Alson Ebanks, will allow visitors to explore the small home museum using audio headsets and it is hoped that it will draw a new and wider audience to this historic property.

Since January 2015 the Trust has offered guided tours of the Mission House by appointment only because financial constraints prevented staff from being able to man the building full-time. Once the new audio tours are in place, however, the Trust will be looking for volunteers to open the property and welcome visitors. It is hoped that this will greatly improve the availability of Mission House tours to passing tourists and that more people will come and learn about this historic home and the living conditions of the families who lived there.

The re-launched tours also form part of the National Trust’s Anniversary celebrations in 2017. Not only has it been 10 years since the Mission House re-opened but this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands.

The new tours of the house will be priced at CI$10.00 for adults and CI$5.00 for children.
