Mission House, Bodden Town

(CNS Local Life): The National Trust for the Cayman Islands has launched a virtual walkthrough of the Mission House in Bodden Town. This fully interactive experience enables visitors to the National Trust’s website to gain 24/7 online access to this historic home and consists of a set of high-resolution 360-degree panoramic images that users can fully control with their mouse, track pad or finger.

The virtual tour can also be downloaded for use on Google cardboard goggles or the Samsung Gear VR headsets, stated a National Trust press release.

This new feature allows visitors to move around any of the rooms in the Mission House and offers a glimpse of the traditional building styles, materials and furniture contained within this restored property.

The Trust added it hopes the virtual walkthrough technology will complement the organisation’s guided tours of the Mission House, which continue to be available Monday through Friday. On these tours visitors can hear stories and view artifacts of the families who resided there.

To reserve a tour, call (749-1121) or email the National Trust
