(CNS Local Life): Undaunted by a rainout on the first day of competition, 27 players competed at the PwC Tennis Tournament last weekend comprising age categories of 10-, 14- and 18-and-under. All of the first rounds were held Saturday, 20 May, with third and fourth place, semifinals, and finals the following day. Despite very windy conditions, the youngsters produced quality tennis.

In the 10-and-under competition, Kahj Clarke (who came from Jamaica for the tournament) took the title, defeating Digby Robinson in three sets 5-7, 6-2, 10-8. Third place went to Jake Fagan who won in a close match against Albert Berksoy 5-7, 6-3, 10-6.

In the 14-and-under group, No. 1 seed Jakub Neveril beat Sebastian Bjuroe 6-3, 6-4. Willow Wilkinson took third place, besting Zach Jackson 6-3, 6-2.

Among the 18 and unders, No. 1 seed Jade Wilkinson and No. 2 seed Lauren Fullerton played an exciting match with Wilkinson taking the title with a 7-6(5), 6-1 victory. Third place went to Jake Booker with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Alexander Claybourn.

The Tennis Federation of the Cayman Islands will be hosting the next PwC tournament on 25-27 August, again at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
