(CNS Local Life): Cayman Enterprise City (CEC), has launched its fifth “Summer in the City” annual internship programme, providing work experience for young Caymanians. CEC’s “Enterprise Cayman” initiative, a partnership with the Cayman Islands Government, was established to connect students with opportunities being created by the Special Economic Zone.

Every year, CEC coordinates with zone companies to develop internships for students out of college or high school for the summer. The idea is to offer an internship in the true sense of the word, providing experience and learning opportunities, while exposing the students to potential career options in such fields as technology, media, commodities, marine and aviation services.

At the same time as taking part in these diverse internships, all students are able to meet CEC entrepreneurs and business leaders. Some interns have also gone on to gain full-time employment with a CEC company.

To apply for an internship, Caymanians between the ages of 17 and 25 should email a copy of their resume, plus a cover letter explaining why they want to spend the summer at CEC, to Marilyn Conolly.
