Indian High Commissioner M. Sevala Naik with Premier Alden McLaughlin

(CNS Local Life): High Commissioner of India M. Sevala Naik paid courtesy calls to Governor Helen Kilpatrick and Premier Alden McLaughlin at the Government Administration Building on Thursday, 17 August. Stationed in Jamaica, Naik is India’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, the Turks and Caicos Islands, The Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

Naik was also a guest on Radio Cayman’s Talk Today show where he discussed a business seminar the Indian High Commission is planning to organise on Grand Cayman later this year.

A career diplomat who joined the Indian foreign service in 1995, he has served in Indian missions in Tehran (1997-1999), Rome (2002-2005) and Kuala Lumpur (2009-2012).

Before he assumed his current duties on 23 August 2016, he served as Consul General of India in Munich from August 2012 to July 2016.

The high commissioner also visited Grand Cayman in January this year when he presented credentials to the governor, and met then-Acting Premier Moses Kirkconnell and other government officials.
