(CNS Local Life): Five of the six Miss Teen Cayman Islands contestants, accompanied by the reigning Miss Teen Liana DaCosta, visited Cayman Brac 5 August to learn firsthand about the Sister Islands. They were given a tour of the Brac arranged by District Administration and the Ministry of Tourism. The trip was part of the educational tour given to contestants so they could get to know their communities and prepare for their academic test.

The young women will be tested on their knowledge of the Cayman Islands and its history, and are getting opportunities to gather information and listen to the older generation recount various details of life in the Cayman Islands from years gone by, stated a press release.

Of the six contestants only two can recall ever going to Cayman Brac. During their trip the young ladies visited various historical and tourist sites. The highlight of their trip was a visit to the Kirkconnell Community Care Centre where they interacted with the elderly residents, who made quite an emotional impact on the contestants who have vowed to return after the pageant, said the release.

The Miss Teen pageant is set for 26 August at the Lions Centre.
