Part of the neighbourhood being revived

(CNS Local Life): The homeowners of East Blvd and Apollo Link off Walkers Road have come together to breathe life back into their neighbourhood. A mass clean-up of the area is planned for the entire month of September so that the overall revitalisation can begin. There are plans to beautify each home by updating landscaping, manicuring and removing large trees, painting fences and buildings, placing speed bumps and improving drainage as many of the current drains are blocked.

Residents also plan to help prevent crime by implementing a neighbourhood crime watch, stated a press release. To define and reclaim the area, there will be signs erected that will easily identify the neighbourhood as East Blvd and Apollo Link.

As with many of the older communities throughout the islands, the residents include veterans, seamen and solid contributors to society who are now aged and either too ill to care for their once-beautiful yards themselves or simply do not have the help to do so. To this end, there are plans to work with the Department of Children and Family services to enhance the welfare of the elderly residents.

The group is also seeking the help of local businesses that can provide expertise and are willing to assist with the revitalisation project in any way.

If that’s the area I’m thinking of, that is my favourite little neighbourhood. This is so exciting.

    Why remove large trees?

True … you can still remove bush without removing shady trees. No wonder why Cayman is getting hotter.
