(CNS Local Life): The Lighthouse School benefited this summer from a joint initiative between the Kensington Management Group and the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association (CIMPA). Paul Njoka, vice president at Kensington, ran a public-speaking workshop for CIMPA which focused on improving presentation and speaking skills. The workshop was attended by a mix of marketing professionals, financial services professionals and students.

Njoka offers group and one-on-one workshops to help individuals prepare for presentations like TEDtalks and has committed to donate 100% of his fees to the Lighthouse School. “Being able to contribute to the professional development of others is always rewarding, but the opportunity to make an even larger contribution to the community is what makes it really meaningful,” said Njoka.

Lighthouse principal Elroy Bryan said when receiving the donation, “It’s great when members of the community reach out to us and support our school and our staff, as it helps us to better support our students. We have an exceptional team, amazing students, and this will help us make this new school year even more successful.”

Njoka and Tanya Wigmore, CIMPA head of training, said they were honoured to be able to meet with two star students, Tianna Hurlstone and Obinna Eleweanya, during their visit to the school and look forward to being able to contribute more in the future.

The Lighthouse School is a Cayman Islands government primary and secondary school that caters specifically to students who have moderate to profound special education needs including those on the autism spectrum. The school was founded in 1976, and today is recognised as one of the best schools in the Cayman Islands and the region.
