Minister of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands Juliana O’Connor-Connolly also attended the ceremony. She congratulated the finalists and their parents and, having read each of the awardees’ biographies, expressed her confidence that the Cayman Islands would be in good hands given the calibre of young people who were growing up to take their places in society.

Acting Head of the Youth Services Unit James Myles read out a speech by NYC chairman Reverend Donovan Myers noting the dedication shown by the current cohort of awardees to pursuing their dreams.
