(CNS Local Life): Tourists to Grand Cayman can now enjoy delicious, locally made food at the Cayman Craft Market, served up by local restaurant and catering business, Yolanni’s Place, which is now operating Monday through Friday, serving up such local dishes as scald conch, conch fritters, jerk chicken, coconut fish filet and a specialty chicaron and yuca (pork).

“As creator of the Cayman Craft Market, local food was always a desired but missing element at its current location,” said CCM manager Jean-eric Smith. “Now you can truly indulge all your senses in the feel, sights, sounds, scents and tastes of Grand Cayman at the Cayman Craft Market on the waterfront in George Town.”

Yolanni’s Place owner, Darlene Manzanares, said, “I’m excited to be here at the Craft Market offering the finest local food for both our locals and visitors alike. I really think that having food here at the Market adds value to the attraction as a whole. It creates a great ambience, and the smell oftentimes brings in customers.”

Shayma Hamdi-Romanica, Marketing Coordinator of the Tourism Attraction Board, said, “The addition of food at the Craft Market is part of the Tourism Attraction Board’s overall strategy to grow and develop the attraction into a culture hub – showcasing the best of local arts, crafts and food. The idea of a Friday Night Fish Fry at the Craft Market is also on the agenda, and would be a wonderful addition for stay-over visitors and residents seeking local food on a Friday night.”

Anyone who would like to sign up to be a vendor at the Craft Market, or would like to get involved in any way can email info@craftmarket.ky, info@tab.ky, or call 949-0049 or 949-6999.

The Craft Market is open from 9.00am – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays when cruise ships are in port.
