(CNS Local Life): Although the Pink Ladies no longer run the cafe at the Cayman Islands Hospital, the framed photo presented to them in December 2016 to mark the end of their 35 years of service to the staff, patients and wider community is now displayed in the entrance of the George Town hospital. The coffee shop, which provided a fundraising source for the charity and low-cost cups of tea and buns for visitors, as well as a trolley service around the hospital for patients, closed because the charity no longer had enough volunteers to keep it going.

In a release, the Health Services Authority said that having the photo hanging in that spot would “evoke great memories and smiles to our many staff, patients and visitors”.

The Pink Ladies Volunteer Corp is still very active in the community, with their largest fundraising event being their Christmas Tea and Bazaar.
