(CNS Local Life): Appolina Bent has been admitted to the bar of the Cayman Islands at proceedings held before Justice Richard Williams Tuesday, 20 March. She completed her articles of clerkship at Appleby over the past 18 months and has been appointed as an associate, working within the corporate practice group at the law firm.

Managing partner Bryan Hunter said of the accomplishment, “Appolina is another on of Appleby’s success stories, having been with us since 2012 as a scholarship recipient and returning in 2016 to complete her articles.

“On behalf of the partners, I would like to extend our congratulations to her for reaching this important milestone in her career. We look forward to continuing to work with her in the corporate practice group where she will specialise in investment funds and CLOs, amongst other areas.”

Bent started as a summer intern at Appleby in July 2012 and was a recipient of the firm’s legal scholarship that same year. She then attended Keele University in the UK, where she maintained a 2.1 grade point average and obtained her LLB. She later graduated with distinction from BPP University in Birmingham for her legal practice course.

Bent is a member of the Caymanian Bar Association, NextGen Cayman Islands chapter and 100+ Women in Finance.

  1. Raising the bar says:

Excellent news and congratulations Appolina! Great to see you achieving your dreams! Your short stint with me as a summer student some years back certainly set the bar for future summer students (and employees!). Yolande
