Cayman represents at Commonwealth Games

(CNS Local Life): The XXI Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia, have officially begun, with Cayman’s delegation one of 71 countries taking part in the opening ceremony held Wednesday, 4 April. Flag bearer and long jumper Carl Morgan led the 21-member team, which will be competing in athletics, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, shooting, squash and swimming,

“Words cannot explain what it means to me to be able to bear the flag of the Cayman Islands. It is a tremendous honour,” said Morgan. “It is an experience of a lifetime. To be able to be able to bear the flag of the Cayman Islands at a meet of such a magnitude is a great, great thing.”

The Games will run through 15 April.
