PPM will need to move headquarters

| 22/04/2018

I just noticed that the PPM headquarters on Crewe Road is for sale. Do we know if they are seeking a new headquarters? Also, can we find out how much they paid for this property when it was bought compared to what it is listed for?”

Ask Auntie, CNS Local Life, Caymanian statusAuntie’s answer:  Actually, the property in question at 488 Crewe Road is not owned by the People’s Progressive Movement, which was confirmed by the party’s general secretary, John Meghoo.

Noting that the location of the headquarters is also the constituency office for George Town East, which is represented by Finance Minister Roy McTaggart, Mr Meghoo said that the PPM is looking to rent another property and “will move when we find somewhere suitable”.

The present PPM office was a very pleasant place, and readily accessible to their constituents. Hopefully they will find another suitable and convenient location for their offices. I would hope that the keeping of decent offices would not become a ‘political football’ for the nay-sayers found in the mix here. All of the representatives are and should be expected to keep some local office to deal with constituent matters, and are provided an allowance for same. After all, it is the people’s business they are supposed to be doing!

Actually, the PPM were not returned to office by the people last year. That’s why there is a “Unity” coalition government. It is shambolic to pretend the CDP and PPM are any different from each other – or to pretend to have a party system when there is collusion from the Speaker to silence the Opposition bench, who we are paying full fare to sit there warming chairs for four years.

No one said anything about being returned to office. Get your head out of your ass and read the article and comments properly.

This is no Big Mac golden triangle purchase by Govt with our money from a supporter at an inflated price if that is what the original enquiry is really about. The PPM office is rented.
