(CNS Local Life): Cayman Islands representatives joined country leaders from across the Caribbean at a Commonwealth integrity and anti-corruption conference that opened this week in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The fourth annual conference of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies is themed “Counting the Real Cost of Corruption – Engaging Everyone in the Fight”.

Delegates representing the Cayman Islands at the week-long conference, which opened Monday, 4 June, are Rosie Whittaker-Myles, chair of the Standards in Public Life Commission, and commission member Pastor Shian O’Connor, stated a Seventh-Day Adventist Church press release. In all, representatives from 10 Caribbean Commonwealth countries and Panama are participating.

The association’s conferences are designed to help Caribbean countries “cooperate across borders, exchange best practices and develop regional anti-corruption initiatives,” according to the Commonwealth Secretariat at the launch of the association in June 2015.
