(CNS Local Life): A new recruitment company has launched an annual Love Your Future Scholarship aimed at students who exhibit passion about their career and a desire to undertake further education or training. Nova has named Caymanian Tynisha Ebanks the first recipient of its $3,000 scholarship.

Ebanks is looking to develop her career in web design and development by studying for a bachelor of science (hons) in business computing (web design) in the UK. The company said in a press release that Ebanks’ story inspired their team, adding, “she is extremely passionate to succeed. She spoke so enthusiastically about using her creativity and development skills to build websites that help others and the local Caymanian market.”

Nova’s aim is to focus on support, administrative, junior and entry-level roles, as well as offer careers advice and training to help Caymanians.

Louise Reed, Nova client relationship and business development manager, said, “As a recruitment team, we meet with talented candidates daily who are keen to progress their careers and qualifications, but at times have been restrained by the expense of furthering their education.

“Our aim, along with our careers advice, online training and coaching, is to help Caymanians find the career path they are looking for in a role with long-term prospects. Which is why we wanted the ‘Love Your Future’ scholarship selection process to focus on the areas we know are vital to a successful career – drive, passion, integrity and self-reliance.”

Reed added that Ebanks exemplified those traits. “[F]rom the first call, her application video to the end interview she was proactive and conscientious in every aspect. She impressed us with her motivation, planning and determination to succeed in her new career path. We are excited to share the journey with her.”
