(CNS Local Life): A group of summer interns recently volunteered at the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO ) as part of their annual community service day. The 13 students, who have been interning at EY Cayman, spent a day volunteer ring at the NCVO’s “New To You” Bargain Shop, sorting donated items, whose sales fund a variety of children services programmes.

Lauren Nelson, EY area director of finance and operations, accompanied the students on the volunteer day. She also sits on the board of the NCVO. “Giving back to our community is something that’s very important to us at EY,” Nelson said in an EY press release. “It was incredibly fulfilling to see them take pride in helping this local organization make an impact in our community. I am already looking forward to next year.”

The EY Cayman summer internship runs for eight weeks each year. This summer’s group of students worked alongside EY professionals, contributed to client projects, participated in presentations, and met other local professionals through a variety of networking events.

University students, who are pursuing a degree in accounting, finance or other related major, can apply for next summer’s  internship by emailing their resume and latest transcript to Janiecia Connolly. The application period runs from 2 November 2018 to 31 January 2019. Applicants should possess a minimum 3.3 GPA and have one year of studies completed at the time of their application.
