(L-R) Shane Bothwell congratulates Anthony Wedderburn on his certificate in airport security

(CNS Local Life): A Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) employee this month received his certificate in airport security after completing online training. Anthony Wedderburn, hold bag screening supervisor, completed the two-week course through the Airports Council International Online Learning Center. “I am extremely grateful to the CIAA for funding this course and for providing me with such a rewarding opportunity,” he said.

“The skills and knowledge that I learned in airport security training will help me grow within the CIAA family and succeed in my role.”

The course offered modules in aviation security, basic security measures, the structure of aviation security, understanding threat and risk assessment, security technologies and their capabilities, human factors, security culture and training, quality assurance and quality management, and security and incident response.

“We are very proud of Mr Wedderburn for being the first CIAA employee to achieve this accomplishment and congratulate him for taking the initiative to gain valuable insight into airport security operations,” said Chief Security Officer Shane Bothwell.
