(CNS Local Life): Cayman Islands attorney Theresa Pitcairn has been appointed administrative consultant of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), succeeding former general secretary Neil Cochrane, whose contract ended 31 July 2018. Cochrane had stayed on with the organisation for an additional month to facilitate a smooth transition. Pitcairn, who has 27 years experience as an attorney, is a member of the FIFA disciplinary committee and has provided legal services to FIFA and CONCACAF, stated a CFU press release.

Her appointment with the CFU is for an initial period of six months. Pitcairn’s immediate tasks include the relocation of the secretariat from Antigua to Jamaica, said the CFU, which was established in 1978 and is the official governing body of football associations and federations in the Caribbean.

The CFU is composed of 31 member associations, representing sporting and administrative talent in the English-, Dutch-, French- and Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Member associations compete in CFU, CONCACAF and FIFA matches. CFU also administers the CFU Women’s Challenge Series and the CFU Boys’ U14 Challenge Series.

CFU’s executive committee comprises Randolph Harris (Barbados), president; Rignaal Francisca (Curacao), second vice president; Lyndon Cooper (St Lucia), third vice president; Richard Dijkhoff (Aruba), fourth vice president; and Eric Labrador (Puerto Rico), Bruce Blake (Cayman Islands), Glen Etienne (Dominica) and Jeaninne Wong Loi Sing (Bonaire), executive committee members.
